WOW, Made so much of a difference in storage. Now I have a place for my first aid kit, hold down straps, and other miscellaneous stuff that would be rolling around the back seat otherwise. I used some dynamat underneath to prevent any road noise that might come through, I would say it was a good addition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Template needs work but nice product

Great addition to my tundra. Installation is what it is. Worth the effort.
Now for the template. Makes zero sense that the template wouldn't cut out for the seat bracket instead of the bolts. And then my template didn't center up on the bolts. I put the template on the product and marked the center to help me for lining up on bolts. I did the 1/4 inch or so from the outer flange of the bolt.  Marked the holes with a trimmed up version of my kids concrete chalk.  Cut carpet with a razor blade. Then made cut with razor into foam. Finished off by stabbing in my razor blade long scraper. Like what you would use to take off an inspection sticker. I didn't have the correct tool so this worked.  Very happy with final product. Took off one star cause template needs improvement. Let it bump up to seat bracket and no room for error

I really like this product. This product addresses the shortcomings of the Tundra's lack of storage. Once installed, you will wonder why Toyota didn't do this to start with. Install was a little bit difficult. The template didn't line up perfectly with the bolts of my rear seat. I simply lined it up the best I could and went to work cutting the carpet and dense styrofoam. I used a utility knife to cut the carpet and a long straight edge knife to cut the styrofoam. Finally, I wedged a prybar into the cut styrofoam to remove it from the floor. It really wasn't that bad, but I really hated to cut into the perfect floor of my new Tundra. The finished product makes it all worth it. I have been showing off this underseat storage to my fellow Tundra owners. Don't hesitate to buy one.

Quality product and easy to install in under an hour for most people. I recommend picking up a flooring knife from Home Depot for about $5, it will cut through the foam like butter. I installed this in a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro and the fit is perfect. For models with remote start there is a wiring harness underneath the foam in the center, just use caution as your cutting the foam and you’ll do fine. Save the carpet pieces and throw them in the storage bins for sound dampening.

I can't believe that Toyota Tundra doesn't have ANY under seat storage. This should be factory OEM. The instructions say 30 minutes install and if you have a sharp knife handy then yes it is true. Easy as can be. You will be nervous for sure when you have your knife in hand ready to cut into your nice new truck but DO IT!!!! Totally worth it and easy.

I bought Plastic for my 2017 Toyota tundra crew Max. The instructions for installation looked fairly easy when I tried to install the product though I noticed that the cut outs on the product are way too narrow half inch on each side actually to align with the seat base that is bolted to the floor.

Just got done installing a ESP Long box in my 2020 Crewmax , Great instructional video by Earl , also he (Earl) is very accessible over the phone if you have questions . Couldn't be more happy with the product , fit and finish is second to none .

I'm having a hard time to decide Long box or short boxes ... wish the price for the long box was a lil bit cheaper . Looks good!  I like the long box for options. I'm thinking long guns with foam inserts would fit great and be practically invisible to potential thieves - even if they get in the truck. But even if I put smaller items in there I can fashion my own dividers if needed.  I think the cost difference is due to material of construction (plastic vs. aluminum) and the lock on the long one

Have you thought of replacing the locking mechanism? Maybe with a stronger lock such as an RV outside storage box type of lock. Not sure of that would work or not. Just a thought.

ESP-No, I haven't. As you know the lock is a simple swing arm at a single location in the middle of each lid. I can pull up on the corner of the large lid and it will flex a bit, so I see that as a easy place to start bending it back with a pry bar. I'd like to see a dual arm system that secured the long lid at either corner. It would need to have some kind of connecting arm as I don't want two separate key locks to mess with.

It's strong enough to keep the smash and grab jerks away...

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice bin!! (3 Compartment Metal)

Very nice storage bin!
It took a little longer for me to install because I have two 10” subs behind my rear seat. Once I got the carpet and padding cut out, I put both rear seats in place and slightly screwed on the bolts. I was then able to maneuver the bin into the holes and I secured all the bolts. Once in place, a very snug fit!!

Q&A

*Question:

The individual compartments lock, but what will stop someone from lifting out the whole unit and stealing it. (3 Compartment Metal)

Answer:

The whole unit slides into 3 areas that you cut out from underneath your seats and carpet. The unit then is bolted down using your seats bolts that you removed in order to slide the unit in. This prevents it from being lifted out. The storage unit has been very useful for me and I highly recommend it.

Reveler00 (Tundras.com)

As far as cutting into the truck per template, you believe the truck will hold up. Are there screws that anchor the box down?

ESP-So to answer your question if the truck will hold up, you aren't taking any structure out of the truck, just the useless foam that holds the carpet up in between the seat rails. I know the price seems pretty high, but we include the shipping in the cost. It averages between $50-$60 to ship one of these due to the weight and size. Plus the rails we had to engineer are expensive as well. That is what the difference in cost between the three compartment box and the long box. There is additional material and labor as well, but for the most part it is the rails. If anyone has any questions, I don't get a chance to get on here every day, so just feel free to call me at 951-858-3418.

My wife is "surprising" me with an ESP Long box for Christmas. Is there room to add sound insulation underneath the long box? I'm thinking of the 150 mil Noico

ESP-Yes there is enough room under there. Did you get it already? Or is she making you wait until Christmas, lol. I know it was delivered

*Question:

Will this set up work with the JBL sound system with the subwoofer behind the seats?

Answer:

The install of this storage box has no impact to anything behind the seat. You don't even remove the seat for installation.   · July 11, 2019

For a snug fit when cutting the template out would you cut on the black line,on the outside of the line or inside of line?

*Question:

Don't you have to cut through the metal part of the cap?

Answer:

No. The installation only requires cutting through the carpet and foam. If you have the behind-seat or under-seat sub woofer, you will need to use caution not to cut the wires. Other than that, it's a fairly easy install. I added a link to help you.

*Question:

Do the seats need to be removed for this install?

Answer:

No the seats do not need to be removed. The storage has notched areas for the seat bolts.

*Question:

Will this fit Tundra Crewmax 2021?

Answer:

Yes.. I have installed two of these in a TSS and TRD Pro crew max. The 2021 will have a hump in the middle bucket once that carpet/foam is cut out but the storage won't go down that far to touch it so it'll sit evenly. Be sure to keep the carpet you cut out to place in the buckets to keep any rattle noise down.
